So can you.

“Learning to mediate has had a profound influence on my ability to calm and centre myself... Learning about Buddhism has also been extremely helpful to me, and I find myself responding to things differently and thinking about the world and the people around me differently. It was that quarter-turn of perspective that I needed. ” — email from a student

Mind the Music
Wednesdays • March 31 to April 21 • Bloor West Village

Have you been interested in learning mindfulness but never thought you could sit still? Have you ever wondered about 'peak states' experienced while listening to music? Have you been practicing meditation for some time and feel in need of new stimulus?

Mind the Music is an innovative way to learn the skills of meditation; an increased ability to concentrate, a clear awareness of what is going on in your internal and external worlds and the ability to experience equanimity — accepting what is arising within you without resistance. In each class, you will learn a new technique while listening to music. We will also discuss how the techniques can be applied to broader life situations. Please be prepared to practice and apply the techniques during the week; we will use class discussions as a forum for sharing, feedback and coaching.

This course is suitable for those at entry level, for those who want to sharpen or refresh their meditation practice or for those who want to bring a new dimension to music appreciation. Please bring to class a portable music player with a variety of music styles and with over-the-ear headphones or in-the-ear buds.

Meg Salter has been teaching mindfulness since 2003 through workshops, group classes and individual coaching. Her purpose is to help people gain the benefits of mindfulness by developing the skills and incorporating the practice as an integral part of their personal and professional lives. Her teaching approach adapts the best of all these wisdom traditions for secular audiences.

Look Again classes are scent-free! A number of students are sensitive to scented products, and suffer greatly if exposed to perfume or scented soap or hair products. Please avoid using any scented products at all on any meditation class day.
